as + ADJ/ADV + as

Ex: He is as tall as his dad

      She runs as quickly as her friend.

so + ADJ/ADV + as (ít dùng hơn)
 
Ex: Her mom was so nice as her.

       I speak so slowly as them.

Tính từ ngắn (1 âm tiết) : ADJ/ADV + đuôi -er + than


Tính từ dài (2 âm tiết) : more ADJ/ADV + than


Trường hợp đặc biệt

Tính từ hai âm tiết nhưng tận cùng bằng -er, -le, -ow, -et thì xem như là một tính từ ngắn.
clever → cleverer → the cleverest
simple → simpler → the simplest
narrow → narrower → the narrowest
quiet → quieter → the quietest

Tính từ và trạng từ có hai âm tiết mà tận cùng bằng -y thì chuyển -y thành -i rồi thêm đuôi -er hoặc -est.
dirty → dirtier → the dirtiest
easy → easier → the easiest
happy → happier → the happiest
pretty → prettier → the prettiest
early → earlier → the earliest

Tuy nhiên, những trạng từ có hai âm tiết mà tận cùng bằng -ly, ta cần dùng cấu trúc more hoặc most
quick → more quickly → the most quickly
likely → more likely → the most likely

Với tính từ ngắn, nếu sau phụ âm là một nguyên âm thì ta gấp đôi phụ âm
big → bigger → biggest
sad → sadder → saddest

Để nhấn mạnh trong cấu trúc so sánh hơn, dùng much, a lot, far,...
The song today is much better than that one from yesterday
Bài hát hôm nay hay hơn nhiều so với bài hôm qua.

Alex is far shorter than his brother
Alex thấp hơn nhiều so với anh trai.

bad - worse - the worst
badly - worse - the worst
many - more - the most
much - more - the most
little - less - the least
far - farther - the farthest (nghĩa đen)
far - further - the furthest (nghĩa bóng)

Wed - 17th April It's not easy to reveal all your emotions, even with yourself. Have you ever tried to hide away from the crowd and pretend to tell them that nothing is gonna happen? Have you ever just expected to run and live in a different country and start again? Or have you ever paused for a minute just to notice how you really are today? Oh, don't get me wrong.
